In the art piece “Cracks in His Shell of Lies” I took inspiration from Vaclav Havel’s Greengrocer and expanded the analogy to represent the system of propaganda portrayed by the totalitarian regime of IR. In the first image, I depicted what the Islamic Republic wants to show as Iran, and in the second image, I illustrated my truth. The Iran that is yearning for liberty. There are 13 differences between the two images and the viewer is asked to try to find them all. If they are successful they win a “Woman Life Freedom” sticker designed by me. If they fail to find all 13, they can look up the answers on the website by scanning the QR code next to the illustrations. Regardless of winning or not, the viewers are suggested to go to the answer sheet online to learn more about each difference. The differences are inspired by a variety of messages from the last 10 months of fighting the totalitarian regime of IR on the streets, in universities, and even in prisons.
